1. Does this system come with a hard drive?

No. This system ships without a hard drive, so you can choose the storage capacity that fits your needs. It requires a 3.5" SATA drive and supports capacities from 1TB up to 8TB. We recommend a surveillance-grade drive engineered for continuous 24/7 writing.

2. Can I use cameras from other brands with this NVR?

This system works exclusively with the brand's own PoE cameras. Mixing third-party cameras is not supported, since the NVR relies on matched firmware for plug-and-play setup and stable performance. This ensures consistent operation, but it does mean all cameras must come from the same brand.

3. How many cameras can the system support?

The 8-channel NVR ships with 4 cameras and can accept up to 4 additional PoE cameras (4MP or 5MP), reaching full 8-channel capacity. This lets you expand coverage later without replacing the recorder.

4. How difficult is the installation?

Each camera runs on a single Ethernet cable that carries both power and video, so there are no separate power adapters or power outlets needed at the camera location. The system is plug-and-play, making it practical for DIY installation.

5. How is this different from a WiFi camera system?

PoE transmits power and video over a wired connection, which avoids the signal dropouts, latency, and interference that WiFi systems commonly experience — particularly across multiple walls or long distances.

6. How long can the system record before overwriting?

Retention depends on your hard drive capacity and recording settings. With H.265+ compression, the system uses up to 50% less storage than standard H.265 at comparable quality, extending retention on the same drive.
